Does it seem like we are all being asked to go to the well of creativity more and more every day? Start a newsletter, create a website, shoot videos, make social media posts. The list never seems to end. It takes a wealth of ideas to keep all of this marketing and designing going. And to keep it going in new and innovative ways takes creativity.
But what if your creativity well has run dry? How do we start refilling it?
Easy! Creativity begets creativity.
Say what?
If you want to be more creative, you need to participate in more creative activities. It seems ridiculously simple, but it’s true. How creative do you think you can be if all you do is read budget reports or statistical spreadsheets all day? Or maybe you’ve worked on so many creative projects that your brain feels burned out.
Here are 10 suggestions for creative things to do once a week (or more, if you can) to fill up that creativity well to overflowing.
1. Paint a paint by numbers set.
2. Color in a coloring book.
3. Put together a jigsaw puzzle.
4. Put together a model.
5. Play with clay.
6. Bake some bread.
7. Walk through a hobby store, furniture store, or gardening center.
8. Play some games with your kids.
9. Listen to some new music.
10. Visit an art gallery or museum.
